Claudio is originally from Italy where he has his home and family and where he usually returns to in between missions.
He has a background in Political Sciences and History and has been working in the humanitarian field for almost 20 years, out of which 10 with MSF as PC and HoM. His last assignment was in South Sudan with OCA as HoM.
Claudio has always been very interested in working in multi-cultural and international environments, living abroad and exploring different realities, far from where he comes from.
Working in this field has been a great opportunity for him to meet and see different cultures and ways of thinking; see the world through multiple perspectives and better understand and appreciate diverse communities. He likes being part of MSF, what it does and represents worldwide.
Claudio likes to develop his personal interests in history, cultural differences and relations in various ways through his work and also during his spare time. Reading, for example, travelling, observing and interacting with people, trying different food and so on. Besides, he always tries to cultivate few hobbies wherever he goes and whenever he can. Sports activities like jogging or hiking are usually what he likes to do either when he is home or on a mission, he finds it very important for his mental and physical health. He also enjoys strumming guitar every now and then but says that he does not have many talents.
